About me

I am Margot Snieders, working at Snieders Financial Translations, and I will do everything in my power to maintain the trust of visitors to my website, my clients, colleagues and suppliers. This Privacy Statement describes when and why I collect personal data, what personal data I collect, how I use them, as well as the limited conditions under which I disclose them to others and how I keep them secure. Social media features

This website includes social media features such as “Share” or “Like” buttons.  These features are provided by third parties, namely the social media platforms (such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram). If and when data are collected in this way, the privacy policies of the respective social media platforms will apply.


Data from clients, suppliers and colleagues


Why do I process your personal data?
I collect, store and use your personal data for the purpose of preparing a quotation, providing translation and/or copy writing and/or subtitling services that you have requested from me, or to comply with legal and tax requirements. I do not use your personal data for marketing purposes. I do not provide your personal date to third parties. Personal data collected may include the following: your name, mailing address, email address, phone number and ID or tax number. In exceptional cases (for sworn translations of personal documents), this may also include your date of birth or other personal information. The legal basis for processing your data is to provide the services you have requested or to take the necessary measures to comply with that request.

Who else receives your personal data?

For translation review and administrative purposes, other parties may have access to your personal data, including my accountant and the hosting company of my website and email services. All of these parties are compliant with the GDPR, to the best of my knowledge and according to the information most recent to me. 


How long do I keep your personal data?

Data related to quotations are kept for six months. As far as work performed is concerned, I have to keep your personal data for seven years under the tax retention obligations. Email conversations are kept for five years.

Security of personal data

I have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your personal data. The selection of these measures is based on the state of the art, the implementation costs, the type of personal data I process for you and the processing risks involved. I strive to ensure that these measures meet the requirements of Article 32, GDPR.

Data breaches

​

If I am acting as a processor for you, I will notify you of any data breaches without unreasonable delay as soon as I become aware of them. Regarding processing operations for which I act as a data controller, I will report any data breaches in accordance with the provisions of Articles 33 and 34 AVG.

Your data access rights

​

You have the right to access, modify or delete any personal data in my possession. Please send me your request by email and I will act on it as soon as possible, no later than one month from the day you sent your request.

Your right to file a complaint

​

If you have any concerns about the way I process your personal data, please contact me. You also have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority in the Netherlands or your country of residence.

This privacy statement was last amended on 16 June 2021 and will be revised as and when necessary. Should differences arise between the Dutch and other language versions, the Dutch version shall prevail.
